Masking to Create Depth on Canvas Art
Hi and welcome it’s Peg. So glad you found me today because I want to share a canvas I did using Stencil Masks from Stencil Girl ®

These all are designed by Trish McKenney and have the look of all things found in nature. I would love to own them all.
I used the large wisteria mask to create the background and filled in with a few dripping moss masks. I followed up with a club set of leaf masks to create the grape vine look. using the leaf masks I added outlines in white to enhance their visibility on the canvas.

I added several layers of izink glazes to add depth and additional color.

If you don't like a shiny surface the you achieve using the glazes add matte medium to the surface. I happen to like it on this piece although it makes it hard to take pictures. Anyway, now I want to try this using different colors and make a seasonal choice in a spring and summer pallet.
here is a short video I shot in the studio while working on this.
