Metal Embellished Journal

Hello friends.

Today I am sharing a journal cover I created using embossed metal sheets along with some beautiful fractured ice embossing powder and Quarry Stones from Emerald Creek craft supplies.

This was so much fun to create. My friend, Jeri Bellini, had been playing with metal foil this week and I remembered I had been hoarding some of this foil for a very long time. I found I had some in beautiful colors. The blue reminded me of the ocean and then the ideas started to roll. I embossed the blue foil with an old folder from Cuttlebug. Then I used a HeroArts Koi die to cut out the gold. I really liked the inlay piece.

I had some painted papers I applied to the cover with matte medium and then used some of the fractured ice embossing powder to give the appearance of sea spray.

Then I added the quarry stones to mimic the rocky ocean or river bottom with a bit of Glossy Accents. I love the textured surface.

I hope you enjoyed my play today. be sure to stop by Emerald Creek to see their whole line of products. also, check out Jeri's beautiful work. She is inspiring. Have a super day. Peg
